The American Heart Association (AHA) is a non-profit organization in the United States that fosters appropriate cardiac care in an effort to reduce disability and deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke. It is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is: "Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke”.

The DonateWiseNow Program brings consumers and wildlife together like never before. “We hope to be an integral part of the AHA in educating and preventing heart disease by raising donations every time a credit or debit is used to make a purchase at one of our participating merchant locations”, states Terri Melle-Johnson, VP Business Development at Greenwise. “We believe that it is important all across America to educate all generations about giving. DonateWiseNow allows merchants nationwide to be able to put the spirit back into giving and in helping educate about heart health”.

As funding for many charitable organizations has been severally reduced, the Greenwise alternative
point of sale fundraising can help bridge their financial needs and gain more community support for their
cause. Greenwise Bankcard merchants may participate in electronic point of sale fundraising for
national and regional branded charitable organizations such as National Wildlife Federation, Child
Rescue Network, Kids in Distress Foundation, and National Childhood Obesity Foundation.

• Donate Wise Now® offers cardholders (making a credit or debit card purchase) the option to donate at the point of sale to select nonprofit organizations registered with Greenwise.
• Donate Wise Now® alleviates “donor frustration” allowing the participating merchant to change the charity offered to cardholders at any time. For example, a merchant can elect to raise funds on behalf of the National Wildlife Federation as the charity one month and then switch to a different registered charity the next month.

Through the Greenwise merchant service, patent pending, DonateWiseNow® program participating merchants now will be able to “prompt” their customers to discretely donate $1 to the AHA and opt-in to a paperless receipt at the same time. Being green now means that customers can elect to not take a printed receipt but rather have their receipt accessible in an online, secure repository at www.planetreceipt.com.
